Karan Aujla’s P-Pop Culture Tour Raises the Bar for Live Music in India
New Delhi, India – Karan Aujla kicked off the Indian leg of his highly anticipated P-Pop Culture Tour in New Delhi, marking a significant moment for live music in the country. The performance was notable for featuring the largest sound system of its kind deployed in India to date.
Aujla, one of the standout artists in Punjabi music, has made waves with his hits reaching both the UK Asian chart and the Global YouTube music chart. His arrival in India with the P-Pop Culture Tour brought a level of attention unmatched by previous performances in the region.
Sound engineer O’Necean Gordon was tasked with ensuring that the sound quality reached all 75,000 attendees at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. “For a crowd this size, it’s crucial that everyone experiences the show equally and consistently,” said Gordon. “I aimed to keep the sound clean and controlled, especially the bass, to avoid any unevenness.”
To achieve this, local rental company Hertz & Pixels, in partnership with d&b’s local dealer Ansata, deployed the largest d&b audio system used in the country so far. The setup primarily utilized d&b’s SL-Series, known for its clear sound and efficient placement. This system was key in delivering the consistent sound Gordon desired.
The main setup included 32 GSL cabinets, supported by 20 hanging SL-SUBs and 52 ground-level SL-GSUBs. In total, 96 KSL cabinets were used for additional coverage, along with 16 AL90 front-fill boxes and 12 V-Series stacked fills. The majority of this powerful system was enhanced by d&b’s ArrayProcessing technology.
Neil Lean, an expert from d&b audiotechnik EMEA who assisted with the system design, emphasized that designing for a stadium involves more than just loud sound: “The focus is on how evenly the sound spreads and how clear it is, especially with 75,000 fans generating a lot of noise.”
Lean added, “d&b’s ArrayProcessing allows for seamless overlap between the main and fill sounds, making it easier to achieve balanced coverage.”
According to Gordon, “With a system like d&b, you start with a solid foundation. The clarity allows for focusing on the music rather than troubleshooting. Everything felt predictable, which boosted my confidence in a high-pressure environment.”
Gordon also praised the support provided by Ansata and d&b: “They understood the importance of not just having great equipment, but also effective execution. Their assistance made it easier to concentrate on delivering an extraordinary performance.”
Karan Aujla’s P-Pop Culture Tour is scheduled to travel through 11 cities across India during March and April 2026.
