Actor Patralekhaa has recently spoken out against body-shaming comments that arose following her appearance at a screening of her film Toaster. The actress, who has been praised for her recent performances and is also stepping into production, used social media to address hurtful remarks about her body, emphasizing the difficulties of postpartum recovery.

Patralekhaa, who recently starred in Phule, earned acclaim for her role as Savitribai Phule and has been juggling both acting and production duties. Her production company recently launched Toaster on Netflix, which has been well-received by audiences.

During a recent public event, some online commentators focused more on her appearance than her work. In response, she took to Instagram Stories to share her feelings. Patralekhaa mentioned, “What’s happened to me? I have just given birth! Yes, I have gained weight, but that’s a natural process. I didn’t eat excessively; my body has changed after pregnancy, and I’ve been producing films at the same time. It’s not easy! Please try to be kinder.”

Her honesty resonated with many, prompting support for her stance on the need for greater sensitivity regarding postpartum changes and women’s health. This incident highlighted the pressures public figures endure regarding their appearance, especially after childbirth.

Patralekhaa and actor Rajkummar Rao, who were in a relationship for over ten years before marrying on November 15, 2021, announced they were expecting their first child in July 2025. They welcomed their daughter on their fourth wedding anniversary and named her Parvati Paul Rao, sharing their happiness with fans.

Patralekhaa’s candid remarks have reignited important discussions about unrealistic beauty standards and the scrutiny faced by women post-pregnancy. By sharing her personal experience, she has reminded everyone that recovery after childbirth is a unique journey that deserves understanding rather than criticism.
