Bhooth Bangla Gears Up for Release After Censor Changes
The highly anticipated film Bhooth Bangla is set to hit theaters on April 17, with special previews scheduled for April 16. Following a successful run for Dhurandhar The Revenge, this new horror-comedy is generating a lot of excitement.
Recently, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) reviewed Bhooth Bangla and awarded it a U/A 16+ rating. However, the board requested that a few explicit terms be modified. Notably, an inappropriate word was replaced at the 26-minute mark, and further changes were mandated about an hour into the film. Additionally, a derogatory term related to women was removed and disclaimers for religious and superstitious content were added.
After making these adjustments, the filmmakers received the censor certificate on April 2. The film’s official duration is listed as 174 minutes and 57 seconds, which translates to approximately 2 hours and 55 minutes.
In a surprising move, the movie team voluntarily approached the CBFC again to trim parts of the film. On April 11, the board approved the cuts, leading to the removal of 63 scenes. Most of these edits were just a few seconds long, but one scene from the song “O Sundari” was cut by 72 seconds. Altogether, these changes have reduced the movie’s running time by about 10 minutes, bringing the new length to 164 minutes and 52 seconds, or around 2 hours and 45 minutes.
As the release date approaches, many fans are eagerly waiting to see how Bhooth Bangla performs at the box office.
