Lawsuit Filed Over Song Use in Dhurandhar The Revenge
Trimurti Films has officially filed a lawsuit against Aditya Dhar’s B62 Studios, claiming that the song ‘Rang De Lal’ has been used in the film Dhurandhar The Revenge without proper authorization. This song originally featured in the 1989 movie Tridev. Renowned composers Kalyanji-Anandji created the track, while Viju Shah contributed, and it was penned by Anand Bakshi. The vocals were delivered by Amit Kumar and Sapna Mukherjee.
Details of the Lawsuit
Sources close to the situation indicate that Trimurti Films asserts it owns the rights related to the musical work and sound recording of ‘Rang De Lal.’ The production company argues that the song, or a version closely resembling it, was used in the new film without the necessary permissions, constituting copyright infringement.
The lawsuit claims that such unauthorized use includes reproducing and sharing the work with the public. Trimurti Films is seeking an injunction to prevent any further use of the song, along with monetary damages and other related requests. They have also expressed concerns regarding the song’s commercial exploitation, particularly in theaters, on streaming platforms, and in promotional materials related to the film.
