Nitish Kumar Reddy Shines in SRH’s Victory Over KKR

In a crucial match against KKR, Nitish Kumar Reddy was eager to prove himself once again. After having an impressive 2024 season and even representing India, he struggled to find his rhythm with SRH. Throughout 13 games, he hardly bowled, and injuries had put his spot in the national team in doubt.

However, everything changed on April 2 at Eden Gardens. Nitish delivered a standout performance, scoring 39 runs and forming a key partnership of 82 runs with Heinrich Klaasen, helping SRH set a formidable total of 226 runs in their innings. Later, in a tight situation during KKR’s chase, he made critical breakthroughs, taking the wicket of Anukul Roy followed by Rinku Singh, securing the win for SRH with impressive bowling figures of 2 for 17.

After being named the Player of the Match, Nitish expressed his joy, stating, “This match-winning performance is what I’ve been waiting for. Thankfully, I could deliver when it mattered most.” He added that the success had boosted his confidence, especially in his bowling.

Overcoming Challenges

Nitish faced significant challenges in 2025, suffering three injuries that interrupted his progress, causing his tours to England and Australia to end early. He had a tough IPL season as well, managing only 182 runs and taking two wickets.

Reflecting on his struggles, Nitish admitted he was troubled by negative thoughts, but he approached the situation positively. “The previous season didn’t go well for me, and the injuries affected my game. I spent time working on my bowling during the break before the IPL season, and it’s paying off,” he said, expressing gratitude toward his trainers and physios for keeping him fit.

With this victory, SRH gains momentum as they prepare for their upcoming match against LSG on April 5.

Upcoming Matches

This exciting win sets SRH on a positive path as they look ahead in IPL 2026.
