Bridgefest 2026 Set for June 11-14
HOUGHTON — The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce has announced that the much-anticipated Bridgefest 2026 will take place from June 11th to 14th, moving up a week from its usual Father’s Day weekend slot.
This year, the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation, in collaboration with the Portage Lake Enrichment Foundation, will be the main sponsor of the festival. They aim to bring back many beloved Bridgefest traditions while also introducing fresh activities to enrich the festival experience.
“Strong communities thrive when people come together to celebrate and care for one another,” said Michael Babcock from the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation. “Bridgefest is a treasured tradition in the Keweenaw, and we’re excited to support an event that fosters joy and community spirit for both locals and visitors.”
Katie Schlief, the chamber manager, expressed her excitement about the event, mentioning that planning is already in full swing. “We’re thrilled to work with Copper Shores Community Health Foundation to make Bridgefest 2026 a memorable celebration,” she stated.
The festival will once again feature a family-friendly schedule, offering a grand fireworks display, a lively parade, a car show, food vendors, activities for kids, contests, and live performances. Attendees can look forward to a variety of crafts, merchandise, and art vendors, as well as water activities and health awareness programs throughout the weekend.
“Our dedicated volunteers and partners are working hard to ensure that Bridgefest 2026 is not only fun but also safe and welcoming for everyone,” Schlief added. “We’re eager to build on this festival’s legacy and expand its positive impact.”
Bridgefest 2026 will take place across the stunning Keweenaw Peninsula, providing a unique chance to celebrate the region’s culture and community. More details and updates about the festival will be revealed in the coming months.
