Salman Khan Renames Battle of Galwan to Maatrubhumi: Here’s Why!

Salman Khan is set to take on a new role as an army officer in the film formerly known as Battle of Galwan. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film has now been retitled Maatrubhumi, a change that caught everyone by surprise.

Sources indicate that the title shift is a response to the current sensitive diplomatic situation between India and China. Salman received advice to reconsider the film’s name and downplay its anti-China elements. By doing this, he aims to align the film with the prevailing national sentiment and address the topic more thoughtfully.

The film’s storyline has also undergone significant revisions, increasing its budget due to the necessity for reshoots. However, Salman appears unfazed by these additional costs. The updated script now focuses on the emotional journey of Salman’s character and his connection with Chitrangda’s role, shifting the narrative towards a love story set against a backdrop of conflict.

Maatrubhumi is expected to release sometime between July and October, pending approval from the Ministry of Defense regarding the revised content. While most of the filming is complete, some additional shooting may take place during the summer.
