Sunil Gavaskar Highlights India’s Concerns Ahead of Big Match Against Pakistan
In a recent talk, former Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar shared his thoughts on the current Indian cricket team, especially as they prepare for their crucial match against Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Gavaskar emphasized that the team is well aware of the areas that need improvement, particularly at the top of the batting order.
He mentioned, “It’s clear that India knows where they need to focus. The opening partnership is something they should give some thought to. If Abhishek Sharma isn’t fully fit and Sanju Samson steps in, there’s no doubt about his talent. We’ve seen him perform exceptionally well when he’s on form.”
However, Gavaskar pointed out a key challenge for Samson: temperament. “This is where selection plays a vital role,” he said. He believes this could be a slight worry for India, as a strong start in the initial overs is crucial for their success. According to Gavaskar, Samson could be a significant player in shaping how the match unfolds.
