The team of actor Varun Dhawan has addressed the viral Mumbai Metro video that gained attention around Republic Day. They clarified that no fines, penalties, or legal actions have been taken against the actor. This statement came after the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) issued a warning about Dhawan’s behavior on the metro during promotions for his upcoming film, Border 2.
In their official remarks, Varun’s team stated, “We would like to clarify that no fine or penalty has been imposed on Varun. The previous statement from the authorities has been removed, and we appreciate their cooperation in resolving this misunderstanding.” They also emphasized that the actor respects the city’s regulations, adding, “Varun values the rules and efforts of the Metro department. We confirm that there are no outstanding issues, and we thank the media for sharing this accurate information.”
The clarification followed a video that showed Varun Dhawan having fun while riding the Mumbai Metro, swinging from overhead handles and poles. The clip, reportedly filmed during Border 2 promotions, quickly went viral and was viewed by fans as a humorous moment.
However, MMMOCL took the situation seriously by posting an advisory on their official social media account, warning that such behavior could lead to penalties under the Metro Railways (Operations and Maintenance) Act of 2002. The advisory, while light-hearted, indicated that misbehavior could lead to fines or even imprisonment.
After the Metro authority’s post was deleted, Varun’s team was able to release their clarification. While the incident sparked discussions about celebrity behavior in public and their influence on younger fans, the matter is now considered resolved.
With this issue cleared up, Varun Dhawan can continue focusing on his work and engaging with his audience, reaffirming his respect for public rules and organizations.
