Huckabee Warns Iran Aims to “Destroy the U.S.”
At a conference on national security in Israel, U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee emphasized that President Trump has made it clear that Iran will not be permitted to develop nuclear weapons.
In a recent interview, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian described the current situation as a “total war” against the U.S., Israel, and Europe. He expressed concerns that western powers are trying to weaken Iran, saying, “They want to bring our country to its knees.”
Pezeshkian stated that the conflict today is more complicated than the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s, claiming that Iran is now facing challenges from all fronts. He explained that the pressure is coming not just militarily, but also in areas like culture and politics.
Despite these challenges, he noted that Iran’s military has grown stronger following a recent conflict with Israel. “Our military forces are doing their jobs effectively, and they are even stronger now,” he said.
Amid escalating tensions, Pezeshkian’s comments come ahead of a planned meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Trump at Mar-a-Lago next week.
The recent hostilities between Iran and Israel resulted in significant casualties on both sides, with Iran losing around 1,100 people, including military leaders and scientists, and suffering missile attacks that claimed 28 lives in Israel.
As the situation develops, both sides continue to navigate complex diplomatic waters amid regional conflicts.
