Maharashtra Local Body Election Results Live Update
Mumbai: The local body elections in Maharashtra are heating up, with early trends indicating a strong performance by the ruling Mahayuti alliance. As counting continues for the municipal councils and nagar panchayats, it appears Mahayuti is leading in most wards.
The Maharashtra State Election Commission organized these elections, which involved voting for 288 urban local bodies—246 municipal councils and 42 nagar panchayats—over two phases. Voting took place on December 2 and December 20, with results being counted from 10 am.
A significant number of voters—1,07,03,576 in total—cast their ballots, including 53,79,931 men, 53,22,870 women, and 775 others, at around 13,355 polling stations spread across the state.
The elections took place in all six administrative divisions of Maharashtra: Konkan (27), Nashik (49), Pune (60), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar/Aurangabad (52), Amravati (45), and Nagpur (55). Each division includes a mix of well-established municipal councils and newly formed nagar panchayats. Looking ahead, 29 municipal corporations and several other nagar panchayats are set to hold elections next year.
