Rahul Gandhi Engages with Indian Diaspora During Germany Visit

Amritsar: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP, made a significant visit to Germany on Friday, where he held important discussions with various leaders. He met with former German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and German Environment Minister Carsten Schneider, talking about a variety of mutual interests.

During his trip, Rahul Gandhi also connected with leaders from the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC). Rajwinder Singh, the Convener of IOC Europe, shared that they held in-depth talks covering global issues, international trade, and bilateral matters. Emphasizing the importance of strengthening Indo-German relations, they addressed the current global challenges affecting both nations.

Accompanied by IOC chairperson Sam Pitroda and other leaders, Rahul Gandhi’s visit, which began on December 15 and will conclude on December 20, also focused on the declining state of manufacturing in India. He stressed the need to boost production within the country to build a stronger economic future.

In discussions with German Environment Minister Carsten Schneider, they talked about the pressing issue of climate change. Both leaders recognized the need for sustainable solutions that prioritize people and protect the environment for future generations.

Providing insights into the visit, Arathi Krishna mentioned that Rahul Gandhi had a comprehensive meeting with IOC leaders from around the globe. They outlined plans for the IOC’s roadmap for 2026-27 and scheduled key upcoming events in the UK and the US.

Additionally, Rahul Gandhi addressed the Indian community during the “Connecting Cultures” event organized by the IOC. His speech highlighted the strong cultural ties and engagement with Indians living abroad. He also reaffirmed the Congress party’s commitment to upholding truth and democratic values.
