CBFC Gives Avatar: Fire And Ash the Green Light Without Any Cuts, Unlike Its Predecessor

The highly anticipated Hollywood film Avatar: Fire And Ash is set to hit theaters in just two days, and fans are buzzing with excitement. This film, directed by James Cameron, has recently received its certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Unlike its predecessor, Avatar: The Way Of Water, which had several cuts, the CBFC has cleared Avatar: Fire And Ash with a U/A 16+ rating and made no requests for any cuts. The examining committee was satisfied with the film’s content, allowing it to be shown in its entirety without altering any dialogue or visuals. However, it’s unclear whether the studio chose to tone down certain language before submitting for certification.

The film has a runtime of 197.21 minutes, making it the longest in the Avatar series. To put it into perspective, the first film, Avatar, was 162 minutes long, while the previous sequel ran for 192.10 minutes.

In December 2022, it was reported that Avatar: The Way Of Water faced several cuts, including the muting of several swear words in multiple scenes. Some of these phrases included common expletives and terms that raised concerns with the CBFC.

As for Avatar: Fire And Ash, it is scheduled for a worldwide release on December 19, 2025. The story carries on from the previous films, focusing on humans who initially sought to colonize Pandora for a valuable resource, endangering the indigenous Na’vi tribe. The narrative has evolved, as one human character transitions into a member of the Na’vi community and eventually finds himself facing new dangers that threaten his family’s safety.

Fans are eager to see how the story unfolds in this next chapter of the Avatar saga.
