Syria’s Soldiers Rally with Anti-Israel Chants as Minister Declares War On the Horizon

Soldiers in Syria Chant Against Israel During Military Parade

A group of Syrian soldiers was seen chanting hostile slogans aimed at Israel during a military parade in Damascus on Tuesday. This has sparked serious concerns, leading the Israeli Minister of Diaspora Affairs, Amichai Chikli, to predict that “war is inevitable.”

Chikli shared a video on social media showing the Syrian army marching while chanting, “Gaza, Gaza, our rallying cry, Victory and steadfastness, night and day. We rise against you, enemy, we rise.” The parade was attended by Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

In comments following the video, Chikli pointed to alarming reports from the Druze community in Sweida, claiming that the Syrian regime’s actions are reminiscent of ISIS. He stated, “A regime that kills like ISIS, rapes like ISIS, and destroys like ISIS — it is ISIS.”

Amid rising tensions, the U.S. administration is advocating for a security agreement between Syria and Israel to stabilize the region. Al-Sharaa met with former President Trump last month to discuss potential alliances.

At a recent conference, U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, Tom Barrack, indicated that Syria is currently uninterested in aggressive action toward Israel, which is essential for regional stability. He described the relationship between Syria and Israel as complex but crucial, emphasizing the need for peacekeeping efforts.

Barrack noted that recent U.S.-Syria collaboration has led to the dismantling of several Hezbollah and ISIS cells. He remarked, “After October 7, Israel doesn’t trust anyone,” aligning with calls for verification over trust.

On a separate note, al-Sharaa mentioned negotiations with the U.S. regarding Israeli forces withdrawing from Syria and reaffirming a 1974 truce agreement.

As Israeli forces continue to conduct operations in the border areas to neutralize perceived threats, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made clear that Israel will maintain its protective measures. He stated, “We are determined to defend our communities on our borders and to ensure that the State of Israel is safe from attacks.”

In light of the ongoing military activities and threats, both Syria and Israel are navigating a challenging landscape as they seek stability in a deeply divided region.
