Novari Health Launches Mental Health Solutions in the UK
Novari Health, part of VitalHub, has made its debut in the UK by partnering with the NHS-led South West Provider Collaborative to roll out its electronic referral and bed management system.
This new deployment marks Novari’s expansion beyond its home markets of Australia and Canada. It aims to enhance the coordination of mental health services for around five million residents in the southwest of England.
The technology is designed to support various services, including secure mental health care, inpatient services for new mothers, adult eating disorder treatments, and support for children and teenagers facing mental health challenges.
The system will help manage patient referrals, improve patient flow, and oversee mental health bed availability. This way, patients can receive timely care from providers as close to their homes as possible.
With a focus on mental health, the system offers features like flexible routing, real-time visibility of available beds, central intake services, organized workflows for admissions and transfers, and waitlist management to keep patients in their local areas.
Moreover, the system ensures complete referral processes through customizable triage options, standardized intake from various sources, and region-wide dashboards for better oversight. This is expected to enhance access to care, improve communication among providers, and shorten waiting times.
Dr. Jason Fee, medical director of the South West Provider Collaborative, emphasized the importance of managing the entire patient journey, from referral to assessment and admission. He noted that real-time access to bed availability allows for better optimization of bed usage, reporting on activities, and addressing pressures within the healthcare system. It also helps in identifying urgent referrals and prioritizing care based on patient needs.
John Sinclair, president and CEO of Novari Health, highlighted the critical challenge of ensuring timely access to mental health services. He expressed pride in seeing their technology making a positive impact on organizations in the UK, Australia, and Canada.
This step forward signifies a hopeful advancement in mental health care delivery for many in the UK.
