Vir Hirani, the son of renowned director Rajkumar Hirani, is ready to make his mark in Bollywood after wowing audiences with a compelling 35-minute monologue in the play “Letters of Suresh.” This impressive performance gained attention in theater circles last year, and now he’s set to transition into films.
According to a recent report, Vir will lead a romantic project produced by Hansal Mehta’s True Story Films. This film is particularly noteworthy as it will be directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, a celebrated filmmaker from the Malayalam cinema scene, who is making his debut in Hindi films. Pellissery is known for his exceptional storytelling in films like “Angamaly Diaries” and “Jallikattu.” The music for this film will be composed by the Oscar-winning A.R. Rahman, promising to add even more excitement to the project.
Currently, the search for the female lead is in progress, with filming expected to start in February 2026.
Vir Hirani is also stepping into the streaming world, appearing in “Pritam Pedro,” Rajkumar Hirani’s first series for Jio Hotstar, alongside actors Arshad Warsi and Vikrant Massey. However, this upcoming film with Hansal Mehta will be his debut in a theatrical release, bringing him into the limelight on the big screen.
Hansal Mehta has been busy producing various projects for both theaters and streaming platforms. Recently, he launched the ambitious series “Gandhi,” which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. He is also working on a Netflix business drama starring Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma.
Overall, Vir Hirani’s entry into Bollywood is highly anticipated, as he steps into a world where talent and storytelling converge.
