Akshay Kumar Raises Awareness About Cybercrime at Mumbai Event
Akshay Kumar recently took the stage at an important awareness event focused on cybercrime, organized in collaboration with the Mumbai Police. Known for his support of various social issues, the actor spoke openly about the alarming rise of cybercrimes and the necessity for educating children about online safety.
During his speech, Akshay shared a troubling personal experience that brought the issue closer to home. He revealed that his young daughter, Nitara, had encountered online harassment while playing a video game. “A while back, my daughter was playing a video game that allows her to connect with other players,” he recounted. “She received a message asking if she was male or female. She replied, and then the stranger asked her for nude pictures.”
Concerned about the implications of such incidents, Akshay emphasized that these situations are more common than many realize, especially for children and teenagers who spend a lot of time online. He explained how predators often pose as friendly individuals initially, only to reveal their true intentions later. “This is how things start, and it’s a real part of cybercrime,” he said.
In his heartfelt appeal, Akshay urged the authorities to implement regular awareness programs in schools. “I would suggest that every week, students in grades seven to ten have a designated time to learn about cyber safety. This crime is growing larger than street crime, and it’s crucial that we take steps to stop it,” he added.
Akshay’s powerful comments not only highlighted the urgent need for awareness around digital threats to young people but also showcased his commitment as both a parent and a citizen. His initiative, supported by the Mumbai Police, aims to help children and parents identify and report online dangers. Through his efforts, Akshay Kumar continues to advocate for meaningful change, urging society to prioritize digital safety in our increasingly online world.
