Sahibzada Farhan Clarifies Celebration Gesture During Asia Cup Match

Sahibzada Farhan has explained that his celebration during a recent match against India in the Asia Cup 2025 was not intended to carry any political meaning. Speaking at an ICC hearing on Friday, he emphasized that there was no political message behind his actions.

Farhan pointed out that celebrated Indian cricketers, such as MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, have also used similar gestures during their celebrations. He noted that in his Pathan culture, such gestures are a common way of expressing joy, especially during festive events like weddings.

This clarification comes after India lodged a formal complaint with the ICC regarding Farhan and teammate Haris Rauf for what they considered provocative gestures made after Farhan reached his half-century.

Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
