Stefanik Calls on Bondi to Probe MSF for Ties to Alleged Hamas Propaganda

Rep. Elise Stefanik Calls for Investigation into Doctors Without Borders

Rep. Elise Stefanik, a Republican from New York, has asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to look into Doctors Without Borders (DBA Médecins Sans Frontières or MSF) under the Anti-Terrorism Act. In her letter, Stefanik accuses the organization of attacking the U.S.-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) and describes their actions as propaganda similar to that used by Hamas.

Stefanik claims that these attacks could threaten GHF, which has provided 167 million meals to people in Gaza since May. In contrast, the United Nations reports that less than 18% of aid sent to Gaza has reached those in need due to theft and looting.

According to Stefanik, MSF is using its platform to spread misinformation that could provide support to Hamas. She references the Anti-Terrorism Act, which prohibits any organization from aiding designated terrorist groups, even indirectly through propaganda.

Stefanik raised concerns about MSF’s neutrality, pointing out that the organization has not advocated for hostages held by Hamas, some of whom require urgent medical care. She highlighted individual cases, including a cancer patient and a woman who gave birth while in captivity, asserting that MSF has excluded them from its advocacy.

She also criticized some of MSF’s staff for their comments and actions. One staff member was noted to have been killed while working in Gaza, and it was revealed that he had ties to a militant group. Another staffer called for violent resistance against Israel, prompting further scrutiny of MSF’s conduct.

Stefanik is questioning whether MSF, which is registered as a nonprofit, has violated the conditions of its status. She urged Bondi to examine MSF’s political statements and consider whether to report the organization to the IRS.

“This is about national security and the protection of U.S. taxpayers,” Stefanik stated. “We cannot allow any support for terrorism, and this issue requires serious attention.”

MSF has yet to respond to the inquiries regarding Stefanik’s letter.
