AICWA Slams Attack on ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh 2’ Crew Amid Shoot in Prayagraj

Attack on Film Crew during Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 Shoot Raises Concerns

During the filming of “Pati Patni Aur Woh 2” in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Bollywood stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, along with their crew, encountered a troubling situation. Reports indicate that a group of local troublemakers launched an attack on the crew in broad daylight, highlighting significant security issues for film productions in the region. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has responded with a strong statement condemning the incident.

Videos shared on social media depict the crew being assaulted while working on set. AICWA’s statement criticized the attack and raised serious concerns regarding the safety of filmmakers, actors, and technicians in an environment where law and order appear to be compromised. They questioned the Uttar Pradesh Government’s ability to ensure safety for those involved in film shoots, asking, “If the government cannot protect film workers, what does it mean to promote Noida Film City as a shooting venue?”

AICWA also pointed out the potential damage to Uttar Pradesh’s reputation and the film industry as a whole. They noted that Prayagraj, famous for its historic Kumbh Mela, is losing its positive image due to such violent incidents. Instead of being associated with peace and culture, the city is now facing scrutiny for lawlessness and attacks on film personnel.

The association has laid out three urgent demands: the immediate filing of an FIR against those who instigated the violence, the implementation of strict and effective security measures for all film productions in Uttar Pradesh, and the restoration of trust among producers, actors, and crew members to maintain Noida Film City’s reputation as a safe filming location. AICWA has also called on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to take swift action to prevent such incidents and reassure the film community of their safety in the state.

In the meantime, “Pati Patni Aur Woh 2,” directed by Mudassar Aziz, is a follow-up to the hit romantic comedy from 2019. The cast includes Wamiqa Gabbi in a key role, and the production team continues to work in Prayagraj, despite the security concerns.

This incident has raised crucial questions about safety practices on film sets, especially with high-profile actors involved. It has highlighted the need for strong security measures to protect both the talents and the dedicated crew who bring films to life.
