The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has reached out to actor Kartik Aaryan regarding his supposed involvement in an event linked to individuals from Pakistan. The federation’s letter highlights concerns over violations of guidelines set by FWICE and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which advise against participation in events organized by Pakistani entities due to ongoing diplomatic tensions.
FWICE stressed the significance of the film industry avoiding any actions that could be seen as supporting cross-border activities involving Pakistani groups. The communication serves as a reminder for Aaryan and all Indian artists to steer clear of professional or promotional ties with Pakistan-based events.
The controversy emerged when promotional material for an upcoming international event displayed Kartik Aaryan’s name and image, implying his participation. In response to FWICE’s concerns and the circulating promotions, Aaryan’s team swiftly issued a statement denying any association with the event.
“Kartik Aaryan is not tied to this event in any way. He has never announced participation, and we have reached out to the organizers to have his name and image removed from all promotional content,” the statement clarified.
FWICE acknowledged this clarification but maintained its call for strict adherence to national and industry guidelines. The federation also cautioned event organizers against using the names of Indian celebrities without permission, labeling it as misleading and potentially harmful.
Industry organizations are keeping a close watch on the situation to prevent any further misrepresentations.
