Exciting Release Strategy for Saiyaara This Friday
Mohit Suri’s latest romantic drama, Saiyaara, set to star Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is anticipated to hit theaters on Friday, July 18. Industry experts are predicting that the film will have a surprising opening, thanks to its strategic release plan by Yash Raj Films (YRF).
YRF has informed theaters to begin screenings only from 9:30 am on release day, limiting the number of shows to just six. This approach applies only for July 18, after which cinemas can increase showtimes as they see fit.
In a bid to draw in young audiences, YRF is introducing a couple of enticing offers. Moviegoers can enjoy a 50% discount on tickets for the 9:30 am show by using the code ‘SAIYAARA’ on BookMyShow, valid for at least two tickets and up to Rs. 200 off. Additionally, YRF has requested that this first show be priced attractively to appeal to college students, while other shows throughout the day will be priced at the regular weekend rate.
A trade expert commented that limiting the daily shows to six will likely result in fuller auditoriums, especially since ticket pricing is a significant factor for Indian audiences. The morning discount aims to entice younger viewers, who may have shied away from early screenings post-pandemic. There’s hope that Saiyaara will bring back this trend.
This film isn’t the first to explore unique release strategies. Last month, the hit movie Sitaare Zameen Par, featuring Aamir Khan, implemented a distinct plan with no shows before 11:00 am and limited shows throughout the day.
