Paresh Rawal Clarifies ‘Hera Pheri 3’ Controversy: All Issues Resolved
Paresh Rawal has made headlines recently regarding his involvement in the highly anticipated film Hera Pheri 3. Earlier this year, news broke that he had stepped away from the project, leading to legal action from co-star Akshay Kumar’s production company. However, Rawal has now confirmed that the situation has been sorted out.
In a recent podcast with Himanshu Mehta, Rawal addressed the concerns surrounding the film. He stated, “There’s no controversy. When people love something, we need to be extra careful. It’s our duty to our audience who have supported us.” He emphasized the importance of hard work in delivering quality content.
Rawal reassured fans that everything is back on track. He mentioned that discussions over the film were ongoing and needed some adjustments. He expressed confidence in his long-standing relationships with co-stars Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan, saying, “We are all friends and have been for many years.”
Background of the Situation
The turmoil began on May 16 when Rawal confirmed his exit from Hera Pheri 3, stating, “Yes, it’s a fact.” This led Akshay Kumar’s production company to file a lawsuit seeking ₹25 crores in damages. Following that, it was reported that Rawal had returned the signing fee of ₹11 lakhs, along with additional interest, as part of his exit from the film.
The issue primarily stemmed from a financial clause in the contract that required Rawal to wait nearly two years for the remainder of his payment, which did not sit well with him.
At a recent event for Housefull 5, Akshay Kumar addressed the situation, saying it was a serious matter meant for legal resolution. However, he voiced his respect for Rawal, appreciating their long friendship and acknowledging the talented actor’s decision.
With the controversy now in the past, fans can expect more updates on the beloved franchise as the team moves forward together.
