KYIV: A Russian attack on Friday resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left over a dozen injured in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, where assaults have recently intensified.
Since their invasion of Ukraine in early 2022, Russian forces have been seeking to establish a presence in Dnipropetrovsk for the first time during this conflict. Regional governor Sergiy Lysak reported that the attack occurred in the town of Samar, located near Dnipro, the region’s main city.
"Three people have been killed due to the enemy attack, and fourteen others are injured," Lysak stated.
In a related incident, Ukraine carried out drone strikes on Kursk, according to Russian sources, resulting in one death and nine injuries. Earlier in the week, Russian missiles targeted both Dnipro and Samar, causing at least 23 fatalities.
Ukrainian military officials indicated that past strikes around Samar were aimed at military training facilities. Moreover, Moscow announced the capture of two additional villages near the Dnipropetrovsk border this week.
In another report from northern Kharkiv, local authorities confirmed that Russian attacks killed one person and injured three others, although the specific location of the strike was not disclosed.
