Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Offers Insight on Political Future
NEW DELHI: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari recently hinted at his political outlook, describing the achievements of the last 11 years as a mere "news reel" and suggesting that the "real film" of progress will unfold by 2029.
In an interview, Gadkari emphasized that it’s the party that assigns roles to its members and clarified that he would accept any responsibilities given to him. He shared, "What you have seen so far is just a news reel; the real film is yet to begin."
The seasoned leader, part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), expressed his commitment to addressing urgent issues, particularly the alarming rates of farmer suicides in Vidarbha. He mentioned shifting his focus toward agricultural and social initiatives rather than primarily on road projects, highlighting the government’s broader mission.
When discussing economic challenges, Gadkari pointed to the nation’s rapidly growing population as a significant barrier to improving India’s per capita income. He supported the idea of a population control bill, framing it not as a religious issue but as an economic one that affects development.
Additionally, Gadkari commented on the recent political moves, such as Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sudhakar Badgujar joining the BJP, stating he was unfamiliar with the individual.
Throughout the conversation, Gadkari underscored the achievements of the Modi government, which has led the nation since 2014. The focus on future plans and ongoing initiatives reflects his position as a proactive member of the government, keen to continue contributing to the country’s growth.
