Jonita Gandhi Discusses Online Harassment and Fan Interactions
Singer Jonita Gandhi recently opened up about her experiences with online harassment and inappropriate behavior from fans during public events. In a heartfelt chat, she revealed the challenges of fame and how she copes with unwanted attention both online and offline.
Sharing Disturbing Experiences
In her interview, Jonita shared a troubling incident involving online harassment. She recounted a time when she noticed a disrespectful photo while scrolling through her Instagram mentions. “I was added to someone’s ‘Close Friends’ list and saw a disturbing picture featuring me in the background. It was truly upsetting,” she said.
While she often tries to ignore such incidents, Jonita affirmed the need to report them. “These people are just seeking attention. They have nothing better to do. I’ve had to block many users to keep my space safe,” she explained, voicing her concern for her family’s reactions to such posts.
Interactions with Over-enthusiastic Fans
Beyond online issues, Jonita also discussed her encounters with overly excited fans at her concerts. She emphasized her desire to perform for those who genuinely appreciate her music, rather than those who care solely about her presence as a female artist.
“There are times when fans rush the stage wanting to sing with me, which can be really frustrating. I often respond sarcastically, but sometimes they’re too inebriated to get it,” she shared.
Regarding unwanted physical interactions, she mentioned her approach: “Some fans come up and try to dance with me, and I have to set clear boundaries. I remind them to respect my space.”
Current Projects
On the work front, the 35-year-old artist is busy promoting her new track, ‘Beparwai.’ As she navigates the challenges of fame, Jonita Gandhi continues to express her passion for music while advocating for respect and boundaries in her public life.
