The Crime Branch of Daman Police has taken bold steps against seven resorts in Silvassa and Daman for violating copyright laws by playing music without necessary licenses. The resorts under review include:

– Devika Beach Resort, Daman
– Hotel Cidade De Daman Beach Resort
– Treat Resort Silvassa
– Khanvel Resort, Silvassa
– Ras Resort by Treat, Silvassa
– Pluz Resort Silvassa
– Pearl Resort Silvassa

The police action was initiated after a complaint from Novex Communications Private Limited, a company that handles music licensing. Owners, directors, and managers of these resorts are facing serious charges under the Copyright Act of 1957 and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Law enforcement has already gathered significant evidence, including recordings of the unauthorized songs, and the investigation is continuing rigorously.

This crackdown aims to dismantle a significant operation that has been causing financial losses to both the government and the music industry. The efforts of the police underline their strong commitment to safeguarding the rights of music labels and artists while ensuring strict adherence to copyright laws in the area.
