Panchkula Police Embrace Technology to Combat Crime
Panchkula: In a bid to enhance crime prevention and improve investigations, the Panchkula police are considering several new strategies. A crucial meeting led by DCP (Crime) Amit Dahiya took place at the Mansa Devi office on Sunday, where officials from various departments gathered.
At the meeting, staff were encouraged to utilize modern websites and AI applications to make policing quicker, more effective, and transparent. DCP Dahiya showcased a video presentation, emphasizing that adopting new technology can help police track down criminals faster and enhance their overall operations.
Dahiya highlighted the importance of staying updated on modern crime techniques, especially as cybercriminals employ increasingly sophisticated methods. He urged police personnel to remain vigilant and informed. During the discussion, he also provided essential cyber safety tips, including the importance of not granting unnecessary permissions to apps, using only trusted applications, and promptly reporting any suspicious activities related to data theft.
Additionally, Dahiya introduced the "Sanchar Saathi" app, which allows users to block lost or stolen mobile phones, preventing them from being used on any network. He explained that this app also shows how many SIM cards are registered under a user’s name, making it easier to report fraudulent use through the TAFCOP portal.
This meeting marks a significant step towards a more technologically advanced approach to policing in Panchkula.
