Paresh Rawal, the esteemed veteran actor, has addressed the ongoing legal dispute with Cape of Good Films after his unexpected exit from Hera Pheri 3. This issue has garnered considerable attention, especially since Rawal is beloved for his portrayal of Babu Bhaiya in the iconic Hera Pheri series.
On social media, Rawal announced, "My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent a suitable reply regarding my exit. Once they review my response, all issues will be resolved."
Reports have indicated that Rawal has not only left the project but has also returned his signing fee of Rs 11 lakhs, along with additional interest. A source revealed, "Paresh Rawal returned Rs 11 lakhs with 15% annual interest, plus a bit more because he is stepping away from the series. His total fee was set at Rs 15 crores, but he was to receive the remaining Rs 14.89 crores only after the film’s release."
There were concerns about this arrangement, particularly since the film’s principal shooting is expected to start next year, pushing the film’s release towards late 2026 or even 2027. This means Rawal would have to wait nearly two years to receive the rest of his payment.
The controversy began after the initial agreements were made with Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, and Suniel Shetty. Rawal’s sudden departure surprised fans and left the production team in a difficult position. Filmmaker Priyadarshan and actor Suniel Shetty both expressed their disappointment publicly.
As legal papers are exchanged and more statements come to light, Rawal appears steadfast in his position, optimistic that the matter will be resolved soon. While there’s talk of recasting his role in Hera Pheri 3, many fans are holding out hope for a resolution that would allow Rawal to remain with the project.
