Last week, it was revealed that renowned actor Paresh Rawal has decided to step away from the much-anticipated film Hera Pheri 3. This exit has sparked considerable attention, especially after Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films, filed a lawsuit against Rawal for a hefty sum of ₹25 crores. Following these events, details have surfaced indicating that Rawal has returned the signing amount to the production team.

Sources close to the actor mentioned that Rawal has given back ₹11 lakhs he received as a signing fee, along with an additional 15% interest. The reason behind his departure appears to be concerns over the payment schedule. Initially, Rawal was set to receive a total of ₹15 crores, but the remaining amount was only due a month after the film’s release, which isn’t expected until late 2026 or 2027.

Only a teaser for Hera Pheri 3 has been filmed thus far, and it’s uncertain what the next steps will be as the story unfolds.

The Hera Pheri franchise started with its first movie in 2000, featuring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty. Its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, came out in 2006 and both films have since gained a dedicated fanbase, particularly Rawal’s character, Baburao Ganpatrao Apte. Given the popularity of these films, anticipation for Hera Pheri 3 remains high.
