Protests in Frankfurt Against Recent Terror Attack in Pahalgam
On Sunday, members of the Indian diaspora held a significant protest rally in Frankfurt, Germany, to express their outrage over the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists.
Over 300 participants gathered outside the Hauptbahnhof (Central Railway Station) and marched towards Dom Römer, making their way through key streets in central Frankfurt. The crowd carried banners and placards denouncing cross-border terrorism from Pakistan and voiced their support for the families of the victims.
Slogans were raised condemning the act, and several speakers addressed the crowd, offering condolences to those affected by the tragedy. The demonstrators firmly denounced Pakistan, calling the attack a "heinous and cowardly" act and emphasizing that state-sponsored terrorism has no place in today’s world. The protest concluded peacefully by 4 PM local time.
In Berlin, the Sri Ganesha Hindu Temple organized a Shanti Homa (a prayer ceremony for peace) to honor the memory of the victims. The Indian Hindu community gathered to mourn the loss and provide support to the grieving families. A temple spokesperson shared, “Through our prayers, we express our deepest condolences and solidarity with the victims and their loved ones. This gathering not only signifies our mourning but also reaffirms our commitment to peace and unity. We remain strong, compassionate, and proud as we honor those who have passed.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation in his monthly radio program, assuring affected families that justice would be served. During the 121st episode of "Mann ki Baat," he stated, “The whole world stands with 1.4 billion Indians in our fight against terrorism. I assure the victims’ families that they will get justice, and the harshest response will be given to the perpetrators of this attack.”
This tragic incident has united communities in mourning and reaffirming their resolve against violence.
