Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated film, Love & War, has been delayed from its original release date in March 2026. Recently, reports suggested that the film, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, might now premiere on August 14, 2026. This date is significant as it coincides with the announcement of Kartik Aaryan’s new movie, Naagzilla, which is also set to release on the same day.
Adding to the mix, Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2 was initially announced for the same week. However, sources indicate that Bhediya 2 will not release on August 14, 2026. The team at Maddock Films is reportedly exploring alternative dates due to the tight competition among the three big films.
According to insiders, the presence of three major releases on the same day would create challenges for screen availability. With Bhediya 2 being pushed back, Love & War and Naagzilla now have a clearer path for their release. Both films are expected to draw large audiences, given their star-studded casts and distinct genres.
The final release date for Love & War is yet to be confirmed, but it remains a strong contender for August 14. As for Naagzilla, the filmmakers believe this date aligns perfectly with the film, as it revolves around snakes and coincides with Nag Panchami on August 17.
Additionally, Shakti Shalini, another horror comedy from Maddock Films featuring Kiara Advani, has also been postponed from its original December 31, 2025, release.
Naagzilla is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and produced by Mahaveer Jain Films in collaboration with Dharma Productions.
