Netflix is set to introduce its exciting new series, The Royals, a lighthearted royal romantic comedy that will premiere on May 9, 2025. Created by Rangita Pritish Nandy and Ishita Pritish Nandy, and produced by Pritish Nandy Communications, this series beautifully combines the allure of Indian royalty with the ambitions of modern life.
The story unfolds in the enchanting, yet dilapidated city of Morpur, centering on an unexpected alliance between a hesitant prince and an ambitious CEO. Ishaan Khatter takes on the role of Aviraaj Singh, a polo-playing prince who is searching for direction in life, while Bhumi Pednekar portrays Sophia Kanmani Shekhar, a determined and self-made CEO eager to transform Morpur’s aging heritage haveli into a chic bed and breakfast. What begins as a calculated business venture soon erupts into a delightful mix of romance, humor, and unexpected twists, as the pair navigates their personal and professional challenges.
Bhumi Pednekar described her character as both aspirational and relatable, saying, “Playing Sophia was a fantastic experience.
