Kartik Aaryan has excited his fans by revealing a brand new look for his upcoming film, “Naagzilla.” The motion poster, which showcases Kartik as an Ichadhaari Naag, has generated considerable buzz online. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on August 14, 2026. In “Naagzilla,” Kartik plays the role of Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, a mystical, shape-shifting serpent.
The official Twitter account of Dharma Productions introduced the motion poster with a catchy message: “We’ve seen many films with humans, now see a film about snakes! #Naagzilla – The first chapter of the world of snakes is coming to your nearest cinemas on Naag Panchami, August 14, 2026.”
This film is backed by several notable producers, including Karan Johar and Mahaveer Jain, and promises to deliver a unique mix of fantasy, folklore, and entertainment.
Initially, the lead role was offered to Akshay Kumar. However, he turned it down as he felt uncomfortable with the snake-related theme of the story. Sources mentioned that Akshay had discussions with the director, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, but ultimately opted out, not wanting to revisit a genre he had worked with in the past.
After Akshay’s departure, the team approached Kartik Aaryan, who was immediately interested in the man-versus-snake concept and saw it as a potentially successful project, especially after the popularity of his films “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” and its sequels, which tapped into supernatural themes.
Kartik is also gearing up for another significant role alongside director Anurag Basu, where he will star opposite South Indian actress Sreeleela, who will be making her debut in Bollywood. Although the title of this new venture hasn’t been disclosed, it’s speculated to be a romantic musical. Fans got a first glimpse of the film on February 15, showcasing Kartik as a heartbroken singer and Sreeleela as his captivating love interest.
