Dharma Productions, a major player in Indian cinema, is set to make waves with its latest collaboration on the much-anticipated film Akaal, featuring the talented Gippy Grewal. This partnership signifies Dharma’s entry into the Punjabi film industry, presenting the movie in both Punjabi and Hindi to reach audiences across the nation. Notably, it will be the first Punjabi film to also be released in Hindi, marking a historic achievement.

The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Bhumika Tewari of Dharma Productions, alongside Gippy Grewal and Ravneet Kaur Grewal of Humble Motion Pictures. Akaal is a historical drama inspired by true events, focusing on the stories of Sikh warriors and their remarkable resilience.
Directed and written by Gippy Grewal, Akaal is set to release during Baisakhi festivities on April 10, 2025. The film features a star-studded cast, including Nimrat Khaira, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Nikitin Dheer, Mita Vashisht, Shinda Grewal, Ekom Grewal, Jaggi Singh, Ashish Duggal, Bhana La, Harinder Bhullar, and Jarnail Singh.
