Rani Mukerji is making a comeback as the determined police officer in the upcoming film Mardaani 3. The project was officially announced in 2024, with filming set to start in June this year. Right now, the production team is busy with pre-production tasks, including look tests for key roles. According to reports, they are also on the lookout for an actor to portray the main villain in the movie.

The director aims to kick off the shooting of this thrilling film by June, with Yash Raj Films actively working on perfecting the script and auditioning fresh talent for its cast. Notably, significant portions of the movie will be filmed in bustling cities like Mumbai and Delhi, with more locations in Northern India being finalized soon.

When announcing the film, Rani Mukerji expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “As we prepare for Mardaani 3, our goal was to create a script that enhances the experience of the Mardaani series. I’m genuinely excited about what we will bring to the audience and hope they enjoy Mardaani 3 when it hits theaters!”

She further added, “The Mardaani franchise holds a special place in the hearts of many, and we are committed to meeting the high expectations of our fans. Mardaani 3 will be intense and gripping, and I’m curious to see how viewers respond to it. I hope they show it the same love they have always given us.”

Mardaani 3 will be directed by Abhiraj Minawala, who has been trained under the mentorship of Yash Raj Films. Aditya Chopra recognized his talent early on, allowing him to work on celebrated films like Band Baaja Baaraat, Gunday, and Sultan, among others. Currently involved as an Associate Director for War 2, Abhiraj is now stepping up to lead the well-loved Mardaani franchise.
