BREAKING: Kesari Chapter 2 Delayed for Holi; Dhadak 2 Steps Into March 14 Spotlight

On February 3, exciting news broke about the upcoming film Kesari Chapter 2, starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Pandey. This period courtroom drama quickly gained attention and became a trending topic. Originally set to hit theaters on March 14, coinciding with the Holi festival—just like its predecessor, which debuted during Holi in 2019—the film’s release has now been postponed.

With this change, questions arose about which film would take the Holi slot. Reports indicate that Dhadak 2 will now take over this coveted release date. According to sources, since Kesari Chapter 2 was delayed, Dharma Productions decided to keep the March 14 spot filled with another film, leading to Dhadak 2 being scheduled for the Festival of Colours. An official announcement regarding this change is expected soon.

Dhadak 2 features Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. Initially scheduled to release on November 22, 2024, its date was moved to February 21, in celebration of Triptii’s birthday on February 23.

As it stands, Dhadak 2 is set for a solo release during Holi. An industry insider mentioned that while Holi typically sees several releases, this year the festival coincides with Ramadan. Notably, Salman Khan’s action film Sikandar is lined up for release two weeks after Holi, on Eid, which will likely lead to fewer films in March.

Trade experts noted that February 7 will feature the release of two films, Badass Ravi Kumar and Loveyapa, accompanied by various re-releases. Other movies like Chhaava and Mere Husband Ki Biwi are scheduled for February 14 and February 21, respectively. Following that, only The Diplomat on March 7 and Dhadak 2 on March 14 are planned. There are concerns that May could also see fewer releases due to the Indian Premier League (IPL), raising the possibility of clashes among too many releases during certain weeks, mirroring the mistakes of 2024.

In a related development, Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 3 has also been delayed, moving to August 2025, while Kesari Chapter 2 will be positioned in April 2025, taking the place of another project.

Stay tuned for more updates on the film industry as new details emerge!
