Prayagraj Welcomes Foreign Devotees to Maha Kumbh

Prayagraj is once again becoming a melting pot of spirituality and culture as foreign devotees join the esteemed Maha Kumbh festival. A group of 60 participants hailing from countries such as Israel, the United States, and France has arrived to partake in this spiritual journey. They will take part in the Amrit Snan, a ritual bathing ceremony scheduled for February 3, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, organized by the Muktidham Ashram under the guidance of Shri Panch Nirmohi Ani Akhara.

This gathered group includes 20 devotees from Israel, 14 from the USA, and 12 from France, along with other nations. Their journey will include a cleansing ritual at the sacred Triveni Sangam, where they will engage in several Indian cultural traditions. Prominent spiritual leaders will mentor them through various rituals, meditative practices, and teachings, aimed at connecting them with the rich Sanatan culture. Mahamandeleshwar Jevan Das of the ashram remarked on the significance of this initiative, stating that it is meant to help foreign visitors understand deeper aspects of yoga, meditation, and spirituality.

One participant from Israel shared their thoughts, expressing admiration for India’s vibrant spirituality. They described their experience of bathing in the Ganga and receiving blessings from revered seers as unforgettable. The increased presence of international devotees underscores the global resonance of Indian spirituality and culture. The Maha Kumbh has transformed from a mere religious event into a powerful symbol of unity, peace, and spiritual growth.

Moreover, many spiritual leaders from various Western countries have made their way to the ashram. Seers from nations including France, Canada, Japan, and more, are participating actively in the events. Among those contributing to the festival are nine Mahamandaleshwars—three of whom are women—who are promoting awareness of Sanatan Dharma worldwide through their diverse skills and experiences. This includes individuals with backgrounds in psychology, music, and academia.

In addition to the spiritual activities, several foreign volunteers are busy preparing for the event, assisting with construction tasks like building stages and organizing materials. Among them is Eric, a 32-year-old engineer from California, who highlights the festival’s collaborative spirit.

As the Maha Kumbh unfolds, it continues to create connections across cultures, reaffirming its role as a beacon of spiritual unity in an increasingly interconnected world.
