Varun Dhawan’s latest action-drama, “Baby John,” had its theatrical release this Christmas but unfortunately did not perform well at the box office. There were concerns and speculation about whether the film would secure a place on an OTT platform for streaming.
However, recent updates indicate that those worries were unfounded. “Baby John” has been picked up by Amazon Prime Video, and it is expected to start streaming on their platform either in late February or during the first week of March.
This film is a Hindi remake of the 2016 Tamil hit “Theri,” directed by Atlee, featuring Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Amy Jackson. Atlee, alongside his wife and Jyoti Deshpande from Jio Studios, produced this new version, with Kalees taking the directorial reins.
In “Baby John,” Varun Dhawan portrays an Indian Police Service officer, with Jackie Shroff playing the villain. The narrative unfolds across two different time periods and includes a special appearance by superstar Salman Khan.
Fans are eager to see how Dhawan’s character evolves, especially with actress Wamiqa Gabbi’s transformation from her earlier role to that of a powerful character in the film. More on the film’s box office performance and reviews might follow as it gears up for its OTT release.
