In a gesture of respect for the late former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, the launch of the teaser for Salman Khan’s upcoming film Sikandar has been postponed. The teaser was initially set to be revealed on December 27 at 11:07 AM, coinciding with Salman Khan’s birthday. It will now be released on December 28 at the same time.

The production team, Nadiadwala Grandson, shared this news on social media, expressing their condolences. The official statement noted, “In light of the passing of our esteemed former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Ji, we regret to announce that the release of the Sikandar teaser has been postponed to 28th December at 11:07 AM. Our thoughts are with the nation during this time of mourning. Thank you for understanding. – #TeamSikandar.”

The 80-second teaser, directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, is anticipated to present Salman Khan in a unique role. This decision to delay the teaser reflects the team’s respect for Dr. Singh and the mourning sentiments of the nation.

Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away on December 26 at the age of 92 due to age-related health issues. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi issued a statement regarding his demise, stating, “With profound grief, we inform the demise of former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, aged 92. He was being treated for age-related medical conditions and had a sudden loss of consciousness at home on 26 December 2024.” Despite efforts to revive him, he was declared dead at 9:51 PM.

Servicing as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, Dr. Singh was known for key economic reforms that liberalized India’s economy in 1991. His calm demeanor and visionary leadership earned him respect across different political views. He is survived by his wife, Gurcharan Kaur, and their three daughters.
