On December 26, Salman Khan shared an exciting poster for his upcoming film, Sikandar, and announced that the teaser would be released the next day, on his birthday, December 27. Fans eagerly anticipated the teaser’s release at 11:07 am. However, the unexpected news of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s passing just hours before the scheduled release led the Sikandar team to delay it by 24 hours.
While some fans expressed their disappointment over the postponement, many in the film industry commended Salman and producer Sajid Nadiadwala for their considerate decision. An insider revealed that Salman was filming Bigg Boss 18 when he learned about Singh’s death. He quickly contacted Nadiadwala, and they agreed it wouldn’t be appropriate to unveil the teaser during a national period of mourning.
Another industry insider mentioned that Salman understood the significance of December 27 for his fans. Although it would have been a day of celebration with the teaser launch, he chose to prioritize respect. Nadiadwala shared this sentiment, appreciating that they were both aligned in their decision. They remain optimistic that fans will enjoy the teaser once it is eventually released.
The film, directed by A R Murugadoss, is set to feature Rashmika Mandanna and is scheduled for a theatrical release on Eid 2025.
