Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has openly shared his feelings about being shorter than his peers, talking about how it affected him early in his career. At 5 feet 5 inches, Aamir felt self-conscious about his height when he first started out in the film industry during the late 1980s.
During a recent discussion with Nana Patekar on the Zee Music Company’s YouTube channel, Aamir revealed that he struggled with accepting himself due to his height. He said, “Yes, I did. I used to worry about whether people would accept me because of my height. This fear really affected me. But later, I learned that these things don’t matter at all. In the moment, those insecurities can really creep in.”
This isn’t the first time Aamir has opened up about his struggles with confidence. In 2012, while promoting his movie Talaash, he mentioned how being called ‘tingu,’ a term for short people, initially hurt him. Over time, however, Aamir found comfort in his work and the support from fans. He reflected on this growth, stating, “The things that stress us out at first often don’t matter later on. What truly counts is the honesty in your work and how it connects with people. Everything else becomes unimportant.”
Aamir Khan’s latest film was Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022, a remake of the famous movie Forrest Gump. Although it didn’t do well at the box office, he is now preparing for his next project, Sitaare Zameen Par, which is a sequel to his beloved 2007 film Taare Zameen Par.
