Diljit Dosanjh Challenges Telangana Government on Censorship Amid Hyderabad Concert: “When International Artists Come to India…”

Punjabi music star Diljit Dosanjh recently took the stage in Hyderabad, where he faced a unique challenge due to a ban imposed by the Telangana government on some of his songs. While the crowd at his concert filled the stadium with excitement, Diljit cleverly addressed the issue of censorship during his performance.

The government had restricted Diljit from performing songs that mention alcohol, drugs, and violence. Instead of directly confronting the matter, Diljit managed to make a light-hearted comment, saying, “When artists come to India from other countries, they’re allowed to perform freely without worries. But when it comes to our own artists, there seem to be so many rules.”

He also expressed his frustration with those who struggle to accept his success. “Some people can’t handle the fact that my shows sell out in just two minutes. I didn’t become famous overnight; it took a lot of hard work over many years,” he said.

Despite the restrictions, Diljit found a way to keep the energy high and entertained his fans by tweaking his song lyrics to remove references to banned topics. His ability to adapt showcased his creativity and commitment to engaging his audience.

During the concert, Diljit also touched on the ongoing issue of ticket black marketing. He noted that the government is working on addressing this global problem, emphasizing that it’s a widespread concern.

The Hyderabad concert is part of Diljit’s ongoing Dil-luminati Tour, which began in Delhi on October 26. He is set to perform in several other cities, including Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, and Mumbai, before wrapping up the tour in Guwahati on December 29.
