Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson, and Suryakumar Yadav expressed their heartfelt congratulations to Rohit Sharma after he and his wife Ritika Sajdeh welcomed their second child, a baby boy, on November 15. The happy couple, who became parents for the first time in 2018 with the birth of their daughter Samaira, officially shared the delightful news with fans the following day.
Currently, Rohit is taking time off to support Ritika, stepping away from training for the upcoming five-match Test series against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Tilak, who played a crucial role in India’s recent success in the T20I series against South Africa, was quick to convey his good wishes. He mentioned in a BCCI video, “I am really, really happy, Rohit bhai. We were waiting for this moment. If it had been delayed by a day or two, I would have been there. I’m coming soon to see you.”
Suryakumar joined in the celebrations as well, jokingly saying, “We need to be ready with the small pads, side arm, and bat now that the little one is here.” Meanwhile, Sanju Samson shared his excitement, saying, “I’m very, very happy for Chetta (elder brother) and his family.”
On the cricket field, Tilak Varma had a memorable game as India triumphed over South Africa by 135 runs at the Wanderers Stadium. He made history by becoming the first Indian to score two centuries in a bilateral T20I series, scoring 120 runs off just 47 balls, with nine fours and ten sixes.
His impressive performance included a remarkable partnership of 210 runs for the second wicket alongside Samson, who also contributed with an unbeaten 109 runs off 56 balls, hitting six fours and nine sixes. Tilak’s outstanding achievements earned him both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards.
