Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case: Chargesheet Highlights Single Fingerprint Link to Suspect

In a recent development concerning the stabbing incident involving Saif Ali Khan, a report by the Mumbai police has revealed that only one of the twenty fingerprints collected from the scene aligns with the accused, Shariful Islam. This fingerprint was found on the eighth floor of the actor’s home, where the attack took place. The other nineteen fingerprints did not match those of the suspect.

Despite this finding, law enforcement officials have stated that fingerprints are not the main evidence they depend on for the case. Given that the residence is frequently accessed by various people, including staff and guests, the presence of other non-matching fingerprints is not seen as surprising by investigators.

The chargesheet, which exceeds 1,000 pages, includes various forms of evidence that, according to the police, indicate Shariful Islam’s involvement. These include facial recognition technology and additional forensic details believed to link him to the attack.

The stabbing incident occurred on January 16 during what is reported to be a robbery at Saif Ali Khan’s house in Mumbai. The actor suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent several surgeries before being released.

Following the incident, an extensive investigation led to the arrest of Shariful Islam. The chargesheet suggests that the robbery was planned, as there is evidence showing the suspect had familiarized himself with the home’s layout and timed the crime to avoid detection by security. However, it remains unclear whether the attack was premeditated.

While the issue of mismatched fingerprints may raise concerns, police assert that their case is built on a wider array of evidence. The investigative team believes that the combination of forensic and technological findings clearly establishes a link between the accused and the crime.
