Bengaluru, known for its rapid growth as a technology center since the opening of its first flyover in 1999, faces a persistent challenge with heavy traffic. Despite the introduction of 42 elevated roads, the city is often gridlocked due to the sheer number of vehicles; roughly 12 million cars and bikes share the roads with a population of 14 million residents. However, there may be hope on the horizon. Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is proposing a bold new initiative aimed at easing the traffic congestion that plagues this bustling metropolis. If this plan comes to fruition, it could significantly improve commuting experiences for the residents of Bengaluru.
