Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership is increasingly seen as vital in today’s global landscape, especially in efforts to reduce conflicts around the world. Pervinder Singh Chandhok, a prominent NRI businessman linked with the Middle East Chamber of Commerce, praised Modi’s vision and highlighted India’s growing status as a global player.
Chandhok pointed out the significant improvements that have come from the Modi administration, such as the ability for Indians to use RuPay cards in various countries, including those in the Gulf region. He emphasized that this achievement is a direct result of the government’s dedicated policies.
During a recent interview, Chandhok spoke about Modi’s rising influence in international matters, noting his important role in fostering dialogue during ongoing global tensions, especially those impacting the Middle East. He described the strengthening ties between India and Middle Eastern nations over the past decade as a source of pride for all Indians.
“As someone living in the UAE, I feel proud every time I can use my RuPay card here. It’s a wonderful feeling to see the Indian rupee being recognized overseas, and this is all thanks to the policies set by the Modi government,” he shared.
Chandhok also highlighted the importance of Modi’s leadership in maintaining peace globally. “In these uncertain times, we hope for a world free from conflict, whether between nations or on a larger scale. Modi carries a significant responsibility in promoting global security,” he stated.
He further acknowledged the Middle Eastern leaders’ desire to strengthen their ties with India, noting that they view India as an essential partner moving forward. “The leadership in the Gulf places high value on its relationship with India and is eager to deepen these connections,” he remarked.
When questioned about the Arab world’s response to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, Chandhok expressed strong support for the legislation, emphasizing that it aims to benefit all Indians, including the Muslim community.
