JENIN, Palestinian Territories: On Sunday, the Israeli military announced that its operations in the occupied West Bank have resulted in the deaths of at least 50 militants over the past two weeks.

In a statement, the military explained that these actions were part of a broader effort to combat terrorism, which included the demolition of several buildings in Jenin that they described as being linked to terrorist activities.

An AFP journalist reported seeing thick smoke rising from the area after the explosions. According to the Palestinian official news agency WAFA, Israeli forces detonated around 20 buildings simultaneously in the eastern section of the Jenin refugee camp. Witnesses noted that the blasts were loud enough to be heard throughout Jenin city and in nearby towns.
