Hyderabad to Get High-Tech Centre for Urban Solutions

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is teaming up with the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal to create an advanced technology centre. This new facility aims to tackle significant urban issues such as traffic congestion and drainage management in the city.

The centre will focus on two main areas: traffic and drainage. In the traffic sector, experts will analyze the patterns and systems currently in place in Hyderabad. Their goal is to develop fresh and effective solutions that can help manage traffic better, optimize infrastructure, and plan transportation to meet the city’s growing needs.

On the drainage side, the centre will conduct a thorough examination of the entire drainage system in Hyderabad, including water channels and stormwater pathways. Through detailed mapping and assessments, the team will work on specialized solutions to address flooding issues and improve the efficiency of the drainage system.

The proposed centre will be housed within the NIT campus, making use of the knowledge and skills from both faculty and students. This initiative builds on NIT Warangal’s past contributions to urban infrastructure projects, showcasing its commitment to improving the urban landscape of Hyderabad.
