Exciting Gear Prepares Riders for the Gravel Worlds Race

As the Gravel Worlds race approaches, competitors are gearing up for an exciting showdown, especially with a prize pool of $150,000 at stake. Every detail matters in a race of this scale, from equipment choices to tire pressure. With the main event set for tomorrow—a challenging 150-mile course—Cyclists are fine-tuning their setups and showcasing their impressive bikes.

Cam Jones: Scott Prototype

One standout bike belongs to Cam Jones, who will be testing a unique setup featuring 32-inch wheels—a format he previously showcased at the Unbound event. For the Gravel Worlds, he has switched to deeper-rimmed wheels equipped with 50mm Schwalbe G1RS tires. Cam has chosen Shimano Dura Ace brakes and hoods combined with an XTR rear derailleur, ensuring top-notch performance. His setup also includes a 48-tooth Wolftooth chainring, ideal for tackling the rugged terrain. Cam emphasizes the importance of hydration for the long ride ahead, carrying as much water as possible.

Geerike Schreurs: Specialized Crux 5

Geerike Schreurs, who finished as the runner-up last year, is aiming for the top this time. Her bike features aerodynamic Roval wheels and Pathfinder tires, designed for speed and stability. She opted for SRAM Red XPLR AXS components, complemented by a Specialized S-Works Power Mirror saddle, maximizing comfort and performance throughout the race.

Hannah Shell: Cervélo Aspero

Meanwhile, Hannah Shell’s Cervélo Aspero is another impressive competitor in the lineup. This bike is equipped with Shimano’s 1x drivetrain and carefully selected components specializing in gravel riding. With attention to lightweight and speed, her setup is ready for the rugged challenges ahead.

Marc Spratt: Ventum GS1

Marc Spratt’s Ventum GS1 is also turning heads. He has configured his bike with a SRAM 1x drivetrain and ENVE wheels, known for their sleek design and efficiency. His wheels feature a depth of 60mm at the front and 65mm at the rear, supporting his goal of cutting through the wind more effectively.

Nathan Spratt: Ventum GS1

Following in his brother’s footsteps, Nathan Spratt is racing on a similar Ventum GS1 setup. His bike features SRAM components and ENVE wheels, showcasing the Spratt family’s commitment to mastering the Gravel Worlds challenge. With 60mm and 65mm depth wheels, he is also focusing on maximizing aerodynamics.

A Look Ahead

As competitors finalize their preparations, anticipation builds for the Gravel Worlds race. With a remarkable array of bikes and gear, these cyclists are ready to push their limits on the challenging terrain. Tomorrow, they will tackle the miles ahead, aiming not only for personal bests but for that coveted victory at Gravel Worlds.

Stay tuned to see how each rider’s preparations play out on race day!
